Wildlife Photographer of the year 2020

Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2020

We are glad to tell that one of Marc’s images is among this year’s awarded images in the category Earth’s environments!
Among so many outstanding photographs this image taken in the Bavarian Alps has made it to the finals and we are more than happy to share these great news.

Not just because the WPY is the most prestigious contests of them all but also because this image is a fresh one taken in the course of our recent project „The wild heart of Europe“.

Since the project’s start back in 2016 we aim at highlighting the importance of wilderness and untamed places in Central Europe and have therefore worked in several countries ranging from Switzerland in the west to the Tatra mountains in the east, from Central Germany all the way south to Trentino & Slovenia – covered the last remaining patches of wilderness in and around Austria and – of course – have portrayed the charismatic big predators – wolf, bear and lynx.

This image among many others will be revealed in our upcoming book (Knesebeck Verlag) – and of course in live talks and online – in early 2021!

So stay tuned for more to come…

Congratulations to all the other photographers and their great work highlighted in this year’s „Oscars of Wildlife and Nature Photography“!

With a special shout-out to Bernhard Schubert – Nature Photography, Lorenzo Shoubridge, Jaime Culebras and of course to Sergey Gorshkov for his outstanding winning image!
