Ultimate Urban Raptor

from the jungle to the city

Back in 2018 we spent six weeks documenting scientists and their work on African Crowned eagles in the urban jungles of South Africa's metropolis of Durban. As tropcial forests disappear in big numbes all across the African continent, these birds have adapted to urban and suburban environments pretty well. However, not all citizens are keen to share the space with such a powerful eagle. Christine's portfolio was awarded at the Lugano Photo Days 2019.
