Crowned eagles – Urban predator

Among Africa’s powerful birds of prey, Crowned eagles are the ultimate urban raptor.
Back in 2018 we spent four weeks documenting scientists and their work on African Crowned eagles in the urban jungles of South Africa’s metropolis of Durban. As tropcial forests disappear at an ever-growing pace across the African continent, these birds have adapted to urban and suburban environments pretty well. However, not all citizens are keen on sharing the space with such a powerful eagle.
